HP laptop battery replacement
Battery replacement is one of our most common HP repairs, especially on laptops under four years old: HP 15-fd and 15-fc, HP 250 G10, Victus 15 and 16, OMEN 16, Envy x360, OmniBook, ProBook and EliteBook G10/G11. Signs you need a new battery:
- Battery life has dropped a lot, or the percentage jumps suddenly.
- The laptop shuts down when unplugged.
- The touchpad is raised or the case is bulging: this is a swollen battery. Stop charging it and bring it in as soon as possible.
You can check battery health yourself: open Command Prompt, run powercfg /batteryreport and compare Full Charge Capacity with Design Capacity. Before replacing anything we check it really is the battery and not the charger or charging port.
